PipeFlow.co.uk (http://www.pipeflow.co.uk) today announced the release of PipeFlow® Expert 2009 version 4.12. Pipe Flow Expert 2009 further enhances PipeFlow’s premier software application for designing and modeling pipe systems and now provides an additional isometric 3D drawing interface.

Piping Design with Flow Expert 2009

PipeFlow® Expert2009 will calculate and solve the flows and pressures through out a pipe system, and caters for both open and closed loop pipe networks. PipeFlow Expert 2009 provides a model that let’s you see what is happening in your pipe system. It calculates flow rates, pipe pressure drops, friction losses, pump operating points and much more. PipeFlow Expert 2009 has an easy-to-use intuitive user interface, a robust calculation engine and an integrated fluid database with common liquid and gas properties, a pipe database with common pipe materials and sizes, and a fittings database with common valves and tees. It also uses the accurate Darcy-Weisbach method for calculating pipe friction losses (with the Colebrook-White equation for calculating friction factors),

Pipe Flow Expert 2009 supports up to 9 different fluid zones within your pipe system and allows inclusion of pressure regulating valves (PRVs) and back pressure valves (BPVs). The software also comes with a verification document which compares the results produced by Pipe Flow Expert against the known results for over 40 cases of published data.

“Pipe Flow Expert 2009 builds on our extremely easy-to-use piping design interface and provides the user with the ability to produce isometric 3D drawings of their pipe system. ” said David Gardiner of PipeFlow.co.uk.

Users get to see the calculated results on the actual pipe system drawing where the color coding and graphical representation of the piping model gives them an instant visual analysis of their system, the flow rates, the pressure losses, and the operating points of their pumps. Pipes and nodes can be drawn against a color gradient that is specified for a particular calculation, such as the volume of flow in a pipe, the pressure drop in a pipe, the friction loss in a pipe or other results data, making it easy to ‘highlight’ and instantly see any problem areas.

When the user wants to see the calculations in a list, the PipeFlow Expert 2009 results can be viewed in spreadsheet format and exported to Microsoft Excel with one click.

Pipe Flow Expert 2009

Pipe Flow Expert includes support for simple network licensing, allowing multiple users to run the software from a shared hard disk drive. It is also available on USB Flash Drive, which allows it to be moved between machines via simple “Plug & Play”.

Pipe Flow Expert is used by a wide range of companies and consulting engineers in many different countries; anyone that needs a powerful, easy-to-use program, which they can rely on to calculate flow rates, size pumps, check NPSH, and find pressure losses in a pipe system.
